NaNoWriMo - Part 1

The Blind Serenade

“Sir, I do think it is time for you to wake up now.” A blond haired boy spoke with such a soft tone to his voice. No way could he ever give an order to the man in bed, the man being his master. In other words, how he spoke made it sound like it was rather a request, one that someone could brush aside without another thought; and that's just what the sleeper did, brush the youngster's request aside with a simple grunt. The man atop the mattress tightened his grips to the sheets, pulling them over his head as he rolled himself to the other side of the bed, away from the noise that came from within his room. It was as clear as day now that the stubborn man wasn't going to listen to the blond. Another tactic came into consideration, the young boy leaned on the edge of the king sized bed, taking hold of the sheets his master clung to and tugged it constantly. Along side the irritable tugging was the young butler's whining. “Wake up. Wake up, up, up.” He was call out in all sorts of kiddish tones.
The disgruntled sleeper just curled up more tightly into his sheets, trying to block the noise as best as he possibly could. Soon, the boy gave up and just huffed, arms crossed in disappointment. The daily routine normally worked, but occasionally he would be a brick. Today was one of those days it would take a woman to get him out of bed. A woman the old geezer knew well. The butler turned towards the door of his master's room, running to it, then swinging it open and calling for this particular individual. By now, he was unafraid of “disrupting the peace” of this mansion type complex, since there was no peace in this place to begin with. It was naturally noisy the majority of the time, even at night when people are supposedly sleeping. Not long after the deafening call, there were loud stomps that echoed throughout the halls. Closer and closer these sounds came, and the more louder they got, the more you can hear the annoyance in them. It was an impatient pace, possible anger mixed within it as well. Once the tapping had stopped, the door closed behind the lovely woman. Well, maybe lovely wasn't the right word to use, considering she had a few rough bloodstains along the edges of her clothes.
“You still haven't woken him up yet?” Ask the woman, expressing her disappointment in the butler with a brief glare.
“I have not, Melody.” The young boy stated. He didn't call her by “madame” or “my lady” because she was about the same level as he in ranks, so it was appropriate for him to call her by her first.
“You must be doing it all wrong then. Step aside.” She pushed him aside forcefully and marching to the edge of the bed where the sleeper rested. The woman didn't even attempt to pull the covers off of him, although she did give him a light tap on the rump to show that she was ready to yell at any time. Course, the old man didn't respond all to well, just winced a little by her tap. “Jazz. Wake up! It's late in the afternoon and this is the third time in a row you have slept in. You butler for the gods sake can't even wake you up anymore. He has to call my ass to wake your ass up every time now, and frankly I am tired of him having to always scream my name. If you are going to have a mission at night, please next time tell your butler or something so he doesn't have to freak out. Oh the gods, are you even listening to me? Jazz?” She wailed, her hands slamming against the edge of the bed in tight fists out of pure rage. “Wake up you blind buffoon!”
Arising from the covers came the old man, Jazz. This hair all curled up in all directions, his eyes were all baggy even if they were closed at this very moment. His hair protruded out of his body, his scruff was beginning to look like a beard, hair started to grow out of his neck, oh god what a horrible sight this was. Disgusting out of bed moment, this is possibly the few worst experiences she could ever have in his room. Melody couldn't help but look away, then having to look back because she had to see his expression. Was he angry at her for being so loud and irate, or was he rather nonchalant about the whole ordeal? The bed headed Sasquatch was grinning, all teeth at full bloom. This meant he was irritated, but not angered by the fact she got enraged. That was a relief, but she knew there was a speech to be followed by this lofty smile of his.
“Melody, Melody, Melody. I know that you know that I have sensitive ears, correct? We have also established my lack of sight as well, am I wrong? Now, put those two together and keep those in mind while you ponder about my situation.” A small silence filled the room, both subordinates held their breath and nothing appeared to move. The tension in the air was suffocating enough, so holding their breath wasn't going to be any different. Jazz gave them this quiet moment to think. A moment was a moment though, so it didn't last long. “My sensitive ears are very sensitive, as you already know. Let me reiterate. My ability to hear is so sharp, to the point where I can hear a persons heart beat and eavesdrop on people eight rooms away from mine, doors closed and all. They also have the ability to block dangerously loud noises from committing homicide on precious drums, but I will still be able to hear the bickering of the obnoxious being. In other words, I have the ability to tune out, tune in, block out people completely, and adjust people's volume. However, none of this applies when I am sleeping, or trying to at least. I am a lucky man that I am. My hearing powers work like a normal mans would when I am asleep. Meaning, the range my ears normally could expand out to depletes.”
Was this not enough information for the young woman? He had to make sure she got it all. “I, for one, cannot sleep with all the jabber in the halls. As well as my ability to sleep is hindered by my neighbors gurgles in bed. Thus, I must refer to physically blocking out all sound with sheets and pillows upon my bed. Yesterday, I even had to rely on paper.” His baggy eyes slowly opened, revealing the pure sclera eyes. Some thought he was a monster because of his demented eyes, not to mention his hair along most of his body helped emphasize it. However, it was something to get used to, because overall he was a sweet heart inside of that tough outer shell. Melody's heart began to pump faster as she stared into his soulless eyes, almost feeling bad he couldn't see her. At the same time, would he be the same with eyes? It was a question that wasn't ever going to be answered, not truthfully that is.
“I am sorry.” Melody took in a deep breath, her heart pounding a mile a minute out of nervousness. Would he forgive her?
“Don't be sorry. I am grateful you had woken me up, in a way.” His last words were more of an aside. “Just next time, don't yell. Please understand that I am not some ordinary business man, alright? I know that you know me as well as anyone else in this horrid building. Now go and do what you do best and boss the crap out of our fellow members, I'll meet with you shortly.” With a nod, he gave her permission to make leave. The woman's heart continued to pound, but her feet didn't move at the same pace it was running. Surprisingly enough, they were moving slower. “Oh, by the way,” the leader added, “don't kill yourself. Take a break before kicking the boys back to work. You're heart, as I hear it, is about to pop from your chest.”
“Ha, ha.” Melody sneered, her voice not so overjoyed by his remark. Good thing that old man was blind, or she would be more embarrassed that her cheeks were bright red. Her feet pattered against the floorboards, then there was a click, another couple steps, then a slam. She was gone, just like that. However, the old man could still hear her walking down the hall. Jazz grinned with delight, his eyes “focusing” on the blanket that rested on his lap.
“What's on today's agenda, Benny boy?” He asked the young butler.
“Today is your day to play at the tavern in Monotone City, sir.” Ben replied, watching his master crawl out of the sheets and hanging his feet over the edge of the mattress.
“Is that so? That's a surprise, last time I was there, I started a bar fight! I wonder why they would want me back.” The old man cackled, lifting his hand and scratching his chin without much thought. He obviously knew why they would want to see his ugly face again, he just liked to question their decision occasionally because he wished to know if there was something else making them call him back other than the usual. The real reason why anyone would wish to invite him back to a bar was because he is a good musician and a people person. That fantastic combination was cherished in these bars and taverns. Why? They were able to distract the drunkards with songs or words without getting killed, the majority of the time that is.
“A rhetorical question, sir?”The butler asked, trotting off to the closet which was only a few steps away from the foot of the bed. He swung the doors of the closet inwards, walking inside afterwards to look at all the wardrobes laid out for his owner. Most of the outfits were suits, and black and white, so there wasn't much variety to pick and choose from. The young blond decided to go with Jazz's normal look, a white button up, black khakis, and a dark suit jacket with pockets outside and inside of it; let's not forget a new pair of “under” shorts, along with a tie, his large brimmed hat, and his signature goggles. Ben carried these items out of the closet and tossed them on the bed, the spot next to the old man.
“You have learned quite well, Benny boy.” The dirty Sasquatch tilted his head too quickly, evidently his shoulder crammed into his left ear and popped the drum temporarily. What his first intentions were was to try and crack his neck, which ended up as a failure. Lifting his head again so it was linear with his body, he groaned at the pain in his ear.
“However, it seems you haven't learned at the same pace as I, sir.”
“Oh shut up and get me dressed, smart ass.” Jazz chuckled and slowly got to his feet, so the boy could get a full 360 turn around of him. The old man was a joker, and loved to tease people no matter their age, sex, or height. Though, he never went too far with his jokes, even if he did, he could pull the “I'm blind” card and run away scot free, normally that was the case. The sound of his butler shuffling through the fabrics was slightly overwhelming, to the point where his thoughts were cut off. Since Jazz was still trying to adjust to the volumes around him, noises were louder than usual., since he had to put some energy and effort into tuning down some unnecessary sounds. Waking up from sleep took a lot of effort, to be honest, especially for him.
“Alright, getting your shirt on first, 'kay?” The boy didn't wait for a response, poking the man by the side before helping Jazz's arms through the sleeves. After, came the buttoning, then the pants, which the old man pulled up his own fly out of common courtesy. Then was his suit jacket, which he was able to put on his own without the younger one's help. “I have your hat right here, the goggles are on top.” Jazz stood still while his butler straightened his tie, then placed the brimmed hat on top of his head. “There you go. All set, sir.”
“Thank you very much, Benny boy. You're always a pal.” Jazz snickered and patted the blond on the head, ruffling his hair roughly afterward out of habit. “Now, it's time for me to take my daily stroll before I get Mel to escort me to Monotone. Take care while I am gone, and don't have a party. I swear to god if I hear a party, I'll beat someone with their own skull.”
“That's not physically possible though.”
“I'll make it possible. You know it.” The old man gave a hardy laugh, a sly smirk upon his face as he took careful steps towards his end table that sat nicely next to his bed. He snatched the cartridge of cigarettes and stuffed it into one of the pockets before making his way for the door. While he did so, his butler watched with brows raised, stepping aside so he wasn't in his master's way. He examined carefully as this blind old man was able to find the door so easily, not to mention the knob. With a click, Jazz opened the door and was ready to make his leave. Course, he couldn't do it so soon, since the blond held him back for a moment with a brief question. A question that has been bothering Ben for quite some time now, ever since he started working here to be exact.
“How on earth do you get around?” Were the first few words to slip from the boy's mouth, the question was very vague because he was in a panic the man might leave before he could conjure up the courage to ask. His heart stopped the moment after he spew that question, eyes widening as he waited for Jazz to stop in his tracks. The sound of his heart pumping again came straight after the sight of his master staying at the door, not leaving quite yet. A sign of acknowledgement, a signal that the man was considering to answer. Maybe not honestly, but by the looks of it, he was going to answer.
“Rephrase it.” The old man told the boy.
“Rephrase what?” The butler asked, brows furrowed.
“Your question, silly.” He replied. Oh, the vague question the butler had asked earlier. Gods, he completely forgot to reiterate his thoughts in a more organized manner. A deep breath, then a long exhale while the youngster began to conjure up a clearer version of the question he had asked before.
“Right. Uh, sir. I just hoped to learn a little bit about you today. How do you manage to get around the house and streets blind? It's remarkable that you don't run into anything. I just wish to know is all, curiosity struck me.” A long paused followed the his words. There was an anxious twiddle in his fingers as time passed, a slight itch behind his ear that caused minor irritation, but he was too nervous to even reach back and relieve it. The air in the room was suffocating again, he didn't know how Jazz was going to respond. Angrily? Unlikely, knowing his personal he would either be more snarky with a response, happy to oblige and make clear of the boy's troubles, or make matters worse by striking his curiosity more.
“That's for me to know and for you to find out on your own spare time. Unless perchance I have a few ticks to spend and am willing to share my story. I'd rather not explain how I get around now however. The time it would take to explain this would be equivalent, if not more, to explaining my ability to hear heartbeats and people masturbating next door. Much time would go to waste, and as you already know, I don't like to waste time.” Jazz left the young boy with just that. Luckily, Ben saw this coming considering that it was one of the latter responses he had thought about earlier. His master triggered his curiosity more, which was probably going to keep him up all night if he thought to hard about it. This subject must be stored away until next time, or else he'll be in an analysis paralysis.
Ben let out a quiet sigh, knowing well that Jazz had heard him, then bowing towards his master. Truly there wasn't a need for a bow or gesture of any kind. Although it was a good habit to begin developing just in case he had to perform such acts to people of higher class than he. Once he was standing up straight again, the old man had vanished. The door was already closed as well. How strange, he didn't even make a sound either.

INSULTING GUY WHO GETS TOMATOES THROWN AT HIM

Thursday, August 21, 2008

Jazzypoo is such a failure. He always gets himself into trouble, or well, trouble likes follow him around. And look what it has done! He has no feet or an ARM!
At the moment I am to lazy to post much but ehhhhhhhhh.

Heyyyy this is our first rp man

This takes place right after Wa-Suto (evilman) kidnaps (LOLSOCHEEsY) Tsu and probably will do some sort of evil business with her D:. I forgot to save the chat from before so sorry if it's horribly wtf is happening moment. Lucien was approached by two men, who's identity is hidden under their stupid cloaks. Cheesy again I know. Most of this is supposed to be like...CRACK DECIMATION stuff but...It's a awesome story now.

Lucien glared at both the hooded men (I'm assuming both are guys) and crossed his arms. "I don't know...You two are a little to suspicious. Why should I help someone who insulted me, and what do you know about Tsu?"
The one man to the right of Lu laughed. "Let's just leave him here if he doesn't want the help. Common." He turned his back to Lu and was ready to leave. The other man, just stood there for awhile and turned to Lucien. "Well...Mister Vere, I assumed you would know it was us...but I guess you don't know who we are." The man was about to take off the hood but the jerk face hooded man stopped him. "Hey! If he doesn't know who we are...let's just keep it that way alright?!"
Lucien rolled his eyes "Look, either you tell me who you are or I'm not coming with you. I can find Tsu on my own..." Lucien looked over at the man to his right and smirked. "but I don't think you two can...or else why would you have asked me to come with?"
The jerk face laughed and turned his head towards Lucien. "We are asking for more assistance...Another battle is ahead of us and if we are successful we can infiltrate Wa-Suto's base." The other man pulled off his hood and looked at Lucien, it was Hatan, with a couple scars on his face. "Well now, it sounds like we are using Mister Vere. That's not what we want." He smirked.
"H-Hatan..." Lucien was speechless. "W-wait. infiltrate his base..." I-I don't want to be dragged into another war! I'm not a soldier!" He looked down at his feet. "B-but Tsu's with him, isn't she? ...argh, FINE. I'll come with." he pouted, glaring up at both men.
Jerk face looked at Hatan. "Commander...You sure you want to bring this man along?! He seems more of a burden!" He yelled. Hatan smiled and shook his head. "I don't know...It's better if he is with us then fighting alone. Who knows, he might surprise us..." He turned around and headed down the road. "Commander!...God send that man to hell when he dies...Come on Vere." Jerk face growled and followed Hatan.
Burden...haven't been called that in a long time...Lucien growled at the hooded man and opened his mouth to insult him back, but he thought better of it. He walked quickly to catch up with Hatan, purposely bumping into the jerk on his way to Hatan's side. "C-commander huh? ...You're a big shot here then too...D-does that mean that you have more power here than back home? 'Cause Wa-Suto sure as hell does..." Lu tried to hide how nervous he was best he could as he spoke.
"Oh course Mister Vere. Depending on our situation, Inaph could have more power then me at times," Hatan glanced back at the 'jerk face'. "Though it's hard to be commander since...everyone goes after you!" He chuckled and looked around the broken town. Jerk face just turned and looked away, he kept his hood on nice and secure. "Pfft...You take all the credit for what I do as well..." He grumbled.
Lucien looked back at Inaph and grinned. "As if you do anything Inaph...I knew it was you under there. You're going to pay for what you said when this is all finished." He laughed and looked back at Hatan. "Wait, after you? There isn't much rebellion against Wa-Suto?!" Lu quieted down and added, "How strong is he here...?"
Inaph let out a sigh and pulled off his hood, his eyes were demonic and creepy. Hatan nodded and smiled at Lucien. "The majority of this world is under Wa-Suto's power. The minority is this place, these people rebel against his doing but we don't have enough power; so we just defend this place for awhile. Since I am commander, there are a lot of people who go after me, night and day." He nodded again. "Supposingly, if I die, this whole rebelion will die as well." Inaph looked away, hiding his face from the both of them.
Lucien glanced over at Inaph and quickly looked away. Those eyes... He forced a smile and patted Hatan's shoulder. "Then I suppose we just don't let you die." he said frankly.
"I guess. Here's the base." They stood in front of a small house that seemed a bit more "in shape" then the other homes. Inaph quickly shuffled inside the building, saying nothing. Hatan on the otherhand smiled at Lucien calmly. "You're probably wondering what's up with him...huh?"
"I suppose you could say that, yeah..." he said, staring at where Inaph had run off to. "I-I'm worried about him, but then again...I don't trust him. Ya know?"
"He's done some weird things, but we've gotten used to it." Hatan patted Lu on the back and walked in after Inaph, who had ran into his room and slammed the door. Hatan sighed and looked at Lu again. "He will come out for dinner...Hopefully." He held the door open for him.
"It's up to him if he wants to starve..." Lucien shrugged and walked cautiously into the 'base'. It seemed as though he were looking for something; something that gave off a hint that this was a trap. He didn't find it and seemed to relax a little. "So...what now? We can't just sit here..."
"You should go off and talk to Inaph. He is kind of been messed up lately." Hatan walked towards a large door. "I will be in my office if you need me." He waved and disappeared into his room.
"B-but what about Tsu??" Lucien cried. he rolled his eyes yet again and sighed. I'll never figure that guy out... He walked over to the room Inaph hid himself in and knocked lightly on the door. "H-hey Inaph? Can I come in?" Lu asked awkwardly.
"Sure...watch your step as you walk in..." Inaph's voice droned as the door suddenly opened on it's own. It was dark, but Lucien could still see inside. Though his room wasn't very...pleasant I should say. Weapons of all sorts spread across the floors and blood smeared on the walls.
Lucien did as he was told; made sure not to step or touch anything in Inaph's room. He walked inside hesitantly and looked around wide eyed. W-what the hell is all this? he thought. "A-are you alright, Inaph?" was all he could say.
Inaph glared at Lucien with his dark red eyes. "Just fine. Why do you ask Lu?" His eyes averted towards a book, which was on his lap. "Take a seat if you wish." He gestured towards the small stool next to him.
Lucien took the seat Inaph offered him, then just began to stare at him for a while. "Y-you worry me..." Lu said coldly. "That's why I ask. ...That and Hatan told me to check up on you." he shrugged and forced a smile.
"Pfft...Hatan. He should be more worried about himself then anything. He worries to much about other people or things then himself...That's why he is so vulnerable at night." Inaph shook his head and stared back at Lu. "How can you worry about me? I am just a fool..." He droned.
"I don't understand then why he's not worried for his own sister..." Lucien hissed, more to himself than Inaph. "How can I worry about you?! You are a fool...You inflict pain on yourself, and in turn that hurts others. That's why I worry about you; not because of you...but...because of the other's you're hurting!" Lucien sighed and shook his head.
Inaph chuckled, it sounded a bit like Wa-Suto, but he tried to hide it. "I do hurt others...It's all I can do Lucien." He sighed. "Anyways, Tsu will be fine for now. Wa-Suto wouldn't kill her here, not yet anyways." He said it very calmly like Hatan. "It's getting late...so I would assume you wouldn't want to be in this room tonight. Shall I escort you to your room?"
It's all I can do...Lucien's eyes grew wide again, but didn't say anything. Something was wrong with Inaph, he could hear it in his voice, and that scared Lu. "I-I'd rather not sleep..." he grumbled, rising from the stool. "We don't know when Wa-Suto is going to get rid of Tsu, so why are we standing around? Isn't it best to attack him as soon as possible??"
"Hatan would say," He sat up straight and got his voice ready. "It's not time yet, we cannot attack now." He slouched over again and sighed. "He always says that...We are probably attacking tomorrow. Tomorrow is more sunny, I don't see why Hatan waited until now..." He shrugged and stood up next to Lucien, he stepped on a couple weapons. "You need some rest, if you don't then Hatan will spazz at me."
"He's planning on fighting him in broad daylight??" Lucien yelled. "What a moron! We can't even hide...why would he do that...?" He glanced at Inaph and smiled. "Hey, I rarely sleep anyway Inaph. He can't yell at you for my poor sleeping habits. and besides," Lu shrugged, "Someone should stay up and guard the place...I mean if people try to attack Hatan at night then we should protect him."
"We already have that covered." Inaph smirked and walked towards the door. "I don't sleep anymore..." He opened the door and held it. "Come on, he should have an explaination for fighting in the day."
"Well if you're staying awake then I'm definitely not sleeping tonight." Lucien said, "It wouldn't be fair" ...that and I'm way to vunerable when I'm asleep... "Oh goodie, I want to know the Commander's ingenius master plan" he jeered, walking with Inaph out of his room. It was a relief to finally leave.
Inaph shuffled his way out of his room, closing the door behind him of course, and towards Hatan's office. "If you don't like blood that much...I don't suggest going in here either." He pushed to doors open and looked inside. "Hey Hatan...we have a questiooooon~." He looked back at Lucien and nodded, it was ok to come in.
"I-I'll stay out here then..." he said, laughing nervously. To get ill in front of both Inaph and Hatan would be far to embarrassing. He stood at the edge of the doorway and kept his eyes glued to the ground near his feet.
Inaph frowned, he thought Lucien was ok with blood by now; so he grabbed him by the collar and pulled him inside the room. Hatan smiled. "What is your question?" He asked as Inaph stood infront of Hatan's desk with Lu in hand. The room was full of dead bodies that didn't seem like they came from around the area, and don't forget that blood splatter everywhere, oh joy. "I smell fresh blood...another one today I assume. Anyways...Why are we going to fight Wa-Suto in daylight?! That's just crazy..."
"Aaah!" Lu almost tripped on a corpse as Inaph dragged into the wretched room. "You ass, lemme go!" Lucien cried, swatting Inaph's hand away. He couldn't help but look around the room, around at all the bodies. All the blood rushed from his face. Lucien looked down instantly, staring at his shoes again- this time blood was on them. He groaned uncomfortably and shook his head. Calm down...just listen to Hatan... Lucien looked up at Hatan, his calm expression scaring Lu even more than the room itself. "Something's seriously wrong with you..." he whispered.
"Sorry about the mess Mister Vere. I kind of got carried away with my work is all." Hatan smiled with a small chuckle. "Anyways, you know Wa-Suto better then I, Inaph. Your father works off of shadows, where the sun is most bright, he will weaken. I can't see why you didn't see that yourself." Inaph did a face palm. "O-Oh right...um...well..." Inaph's voice trembled. "I-I got to go...get ready for d-dinner! Right dinner!" He stumbled out of the room quickly.
"Y-your work..." Lu glared at Hatan. Murderer. You're just as bad at Wa-Suto... After hearing the reasoning Lu stayed in the room, thinking. "I-I suppose that makes sense...I just don't like the idea I gue- Inaph??" Lu spun around and watched as he left. "What's his deal?!" he turned back to Hatan, then looked down. "If you don't mind, I'm gonna leave too" Lucien said as he practically sprinted out of the room and after Inaph.
Hatan waved and stood up, starting to pick up the bodies. "I guess he thinks I am a bad person..." He chuckled. Inaph on the other hand ran back into his room, he slammed the door shut and jump on his bed. Gah...If I stay there any longer I would've killed someone...Too much blood...J-Just wait for dinner...r-right! Dinner!... He reached under his pillow and grabbed his butterfly knife.
"H-hey Inaph! wa-" The door practically slammed in his face, making Lucien furious. "Hey dillweed! Open up please!" he yelled, banging on the door. "C'mon Inaph..."
"G-Go do something else...I am having...a-a snack!" Inaph yelled back, but his voice trembled. Stupid Lu...the door is unlocked. He bit his arm and stared at the door.
"People don't eat right before dinner it's rude-" Lucien didn't realize the door was unlocked and tried opening it by force. The door flew open and Lu flew inside the room, tripping and falling on something sharp. "O-ow..." he muttered, slowly standing up and rubbing his arm. Blood was starting to stain his white sleeve. "Oh great, that's not gonna come out...You outta clean this place, it's a health hazar- what the hell are you doing?!" Lucien yelled as he watched Inaph chew on his own arm.
"Eatin'." Inaph tried his best to talk with his mouth full, full of blood that is. He let go of his own arm and licked his lips. "Cleaning is something I don't do. Anyways if any intruders came in they would have a hard time..." He stared at Lu and smiled calmly.
Lucien just stared at Inaph as though he were crazy. "A-um..." eating?! You're psycho... is what he meant to say, but he felt to sick to make the words come. He just stood there, stupified.
Inaph stood up and lightly pushes Lucien out of the room, then closing the door on him again. Oddly enough, Hatan was walking out of his room with almost a mountain full of bodies on his back. "Oh hello Lucien. Can you help me a bit...I think there is another assassin in my office again. If you can go kill him for me...that would be great!" He waddled out of the house.
Lucien didn't even care that Inaph just kicked him out of the room, he was still to shocked. Why would he do that?! The sound of Hatan's voice made Lu jump and instictively look over at him. His face turned pale. "H-honestly?!?" he yelled, reaching for his gun and rushing toward Hatan's office; despite his hatred for the room. I hate this place... Lu thought bitterly, swinging the door open.
A person stood in front of Hatan's desk, the assassin turned around sharply and stared at Lucien with a blank emotion. He pulled out a dagger and charged towards him, holding the dagger in an unprofessional way.
Lucien couldn't help but chuckle at the 'assassin'. "Amateur, your not even worth wasting bullets on." he muttered, easily dodging the attack and spinning behind him. Lu smirked and hit the attacker upside the head with his gun.
The assassin stumbled to his right and threw the dagger at Lucien's face. He ran back towards the desk and took a couple books, quickly opening it to a random page.
Lucien stumbled back, avoiding the dagger by an inch. "Way to close for comfort..." he sighed, looking over at the assassin. "You threw away your weapon; not very smart...H-hey, what do you think you're doing??"
The assassin smiled and drew in a long breath, and released his breath on the pages of the book. The pages flew off the book and started to take shape. Shape of what? A large monster is what the man was making. "Heh...I will be leaving..." He disappeared into the shadows, leaving a large monster that stared down at Lu.
Lucien stared blankly at the monster. "H-hello~ ...Goodbye." He shook his head and ran towards the door, out the door and back to Inaph's room. Lu didn't even bother knocking this time. "Hey freak, there's a problem that needs to be taken care of. Care to help?" he asked innocently.
Inaph stood up and walked out of his room, staring at Lucien he shook his head and speed walked towards the office. "What could be wrong this ti-..." His voice trailed off as he opened the door to see a monster staring down at him. "Oh dear..." He said.
"My thoughts exactly." Lucien said bitterly, staring up at the monster again. "W-what are we gonna do with it?"
"We can't burn it...we would destroy the room..." Inaph gulped, imagining what would happen if they burned down HATAN'S room; such a horrifying thought. "We will just have to get out of the room somehow." He summoned some butterflies, that turned themselves into a sword.
"Yeah, burning it didn't even cross my mind...crazy." Lucien jeered. "We can't just bring it somewhere else- that wouldn't do any good since someone else would have to take care of it!" he sighed and looked over at Inaph. "And how come everyone here can use magic? It really irritates me."
"Not everyone can. Usually people with magic are on my father's side..." He lept and slashed at the monster. "That's why the towns people here still fear Hatan and I..." He ran around the monster and hacked at its legs.
Lucien stared at Inaph for a moment, processing what he said. Good to know... 'Well, that little amateur killer could summon this monsterous thing, so magic must be pretty common!" Lucien argued, aiming for the head of the monster and firing. He tried to fire again, but it made the sad noise guns make when they're out of ammo. "...well f***" he muttered.
Inaph stabbed at the monster for a bit longer but ran back towards Lucien. "It's not going down...it's odd." He stared at the large monster who now was flailing around and letting out a huge roar. "This is actually the first time an assassin did this! Did you take your time killing the guy?" He asked Lu.
"Well, no not really." Lucien admitted, smiling feebly. "The guy ran off while I was distracted by the giant monster he summoned!"
Inaph frowned. "Not really? You don't go easy on assassins or they mig-..." He coughed out a load of blood and looked behind himself. It was the assassin; he quickly looked down at his body and saw a short sword sticking out. "Oh...god dammit!" Inaph yelled and ran at the man, his running was more of a stumble, then tripped. He tried to get back up but his body was losing a lot of blood.
"O-oh sh-Inaph!" Lucien knelt down next to him, genuinely worried. "Y-you okay?" The sight of his blood made Lu a little queasy, but he shook it off and glared at the assassin. "T-that was cheap."
The assassin shrugged. "That's what us assassins do..." He said and pulled out another dagger, but held it professionally. "I just wanted you to...underestimate me I suppose...and it worked." He charged at Lucien. Inaph stood up quickly and tackled the man. "Get the F%$@ out!" Inaph yelled as he was stabbed a couple more times by the panicked assassin. Inaph pulled out his knife and stabbed the man in the heart once, and everything seemed quiet. The monster was now gone, paper scattered all over the floor where it used to be at.
Everything happened so fast, all Lucien could do was watch. "I...I'm so stupid!" he yelled suddenly, rushing again to Inaph. He began apoligising nonstop. "Are you okay? I-I'm so sorry!"
Inaph turned to look at Lucien with a smile on his face. "N-No worries Lucien...No...worries." He stood up at a turtle pace and looked at the deep wounds on his torso. "Are you ok...is the question." He asked as tried to pull out the short sword from his body. He spat out more blood, but that didn't help him look ok at all.
"D-don't be dumb, I didn't get hurt at all!" Lu yelled. "Y-you need to worry about yourself...way to reckless. It's like you have no sense of self preservation!" Lu took a deep breath. He stopped yelling, but Lu could stop shaking. "Inaph, you need medical attention...bad."
Inaph held Lucien's shoulders and smiled. "I will be fine...If I didn't do that, the monster would have ate you." He chuckled and sort of hugged/leaned on him.
Lucien couldn't help but hug Inaph back. "Y-you're an idiot..." he whispered. Suddenly he backed off and stared at Inaph, worried. "I-I'm sorry!" (this place is bad for Lu's health, he's going all 'sorry' on us oO)
Inaph collapsed onto the ground, Lucien was more of a crutch for him at the moment. He smiled. "Don't...worry about it...." He mumbled as he closed his eyes.
"I-Inaph!!" Lucien growled, lifting him up off the ground. "Y-you were right..." Lu mumbled, wobbling towards the door, practically dragging Inaph with him. "I am a burden here...so being a crutch is the least I can do...YOU don't worry, I'll get some help." He took Inaph outside the base and they stood there for a moment. I have no idea where I'm going...
"Lucien...just leave me. I am better off...dead...No one needs a...fool...an idiot...a jerk like me..." Inaph woke up because Lucien was dragging him. "Hatan's probably having tea at Cisle's house again."
Lucien sighed a heavy sigh. "Inaph...didn't you just tell me that I would've died if it weren't for you? Moron you may be, but I apparently need you. So stop putting yourself down please, and tell me where this Cisle person's house is. If I remember right, Hatan can pretty much bring people back from the dead, right? I'm sure you'll be just fine if he fixes you up!"
"He..." Inaph's body fell limp and tears fell out of his eyes. "Sorry..." He tried his best to stay awake but the lack of blood was making his body shut down.
Lucien frowned and tried to gently shake Inaph conscious. "Hey, c'mon don't give up..." he said softly, "I just need to know where Hatan is so we can help you."
"You need me?" Hatan stood behind Lucien with a little girl who held a little head of a doll, the one who called Lucien rude before. "Oh my, Inaph is a terrible condition." He said with little shock in his voice.
Lucien gasped and spun- rather, turned a little- to face Hatan. Tears started to well up in his eyes and he avoided eye contact with Hatan. "I-I'm sorry...things got a little out of hand when you left."
"I guess Inaph handled the assassin...Hmmph. He usually wouldn't practically kill himself in these situations..." Hatan stared at Lucien and chuckled. "I see now...anyways. I will take him from here, Lucien, I trust you can take care of Cisle for me? Thanks." He grabbed Inaph and carried him back into the house.
He wouldn't usually be so reckless? Really? ...There must be two Inaph's...Lucien thought sadly. "U-um, sure!" he nodded, then looked over and smiled weakly at Cisle. "I-its the least I could do..."
Cisle pouted and kicked Lucien in the shin. "I don't like you Mr. Rude man!" She stuck out her tongue at him as she cross her arms.
Lu held his shin and was about to defend himself, but he decided it wasn't worth it. "I-I deserved that I suppose. I'm sorry...Cisle, right?" Lu sighed. "When we first...met, I wasn't in the greatest of moods. Really I'm not that rude." he forced a smile.
Cisle pouted again. "Hrmph...Yeah sure. I wanna see Mr. Hoshi!" She stomped into the house. "Where would he go?..." She looked up and around.
Lucien frowned. "I-I'm sorry, but he's really busy right now. It's a life or death situation, so you're just going to have to deal with me Cisle."
"Well I want to see him! You better escort me." Cisle held her hand out to him with a puffy cheek pout.
"I-I really don't think that would be a good idea, Cisle..." He said quickly. "I mean, if Hatan wanted you to come with him why would he leave you with me?" Lucien tried to smile again, "I'm sure he'll be out soon." I hope so...I'm no babysitter.
Hatan walked out of the office room and didn't bother closing the door. "Hey you too!" He walked up to Cisle and Lucien. "What do you think of Mister Vere?" He asked Cisle, kneeling down so he would be eye level with her. "He is ok Mister Hoshi. Kind of stubborn and makes me feel uncomfortable." She let go of Lu's hand and clung onto Hatan. "Heh um well! I will be bringing her home Mister Vere. If you would do me one more favor...keep an eye on Inaph. He is really vulnerable to attacks." He ran out of the house with Cisle. (blahhh brain dead. *listens to rick roll* )
Stubborn, yeah I knew that...but she's the one who's uncomfortable to be around...Lucien frowned and looked away from Cisle and Hatan as they ran out. "Y-yeah sure thing..." He muttered, walking towards Hatan's office. Lu walked in quietly. A shiver ran down his spine when he spotted Inaph. "H-hey..." he said softly, barely audible.
Inaph was on the floor with a blanket on top of him. "Hrmph..." He shifted under the blankets and took a couple gasping breaths. Great...Lucien's here. If there is an ambush we are screwed...Go to hell Hatan. HELL.
Lucien sighed and sat on the ground next to Inaph. He sat crosslegged, leaning lazily on his bo- which seemed far to tall when Lu sat- practically glaring at the door. "I-I know what you're thinking...and I don't appreciate it." he mumbled.
"What are you..doing Lucien...?" Inaph mumbled as he looked at Lu. His eyes were normal instead of the demonic eyes he's been seeing the whole day. "A-Aren't you supposed to get some sleep?!"
"Shut up Inaph." Lu muttered bitterly. He didn't take his eyes off the door. "You're the one who needs to rest. I'm just here to make sure of it."
Inaph sat up, it opened a scar, but he didn't really care to much. "You...You don't have to..." He looked at Lu with sad eyes, good thing Lu was to busy paying attention to the door.
"Yes I do have to. My orders were to stay here and keep an eye on you. They came from the Commander himself." He didn't mean for it to come out as an insult or mockery, but his voice was to bitter for it not to. Lu spun around and stared at Inaph. "So that's what I'm doing. I'm also guarding the door. It's called multitasking." He smiled and poked Inaph with the bo. "Now lay back down or else I'll rummage through your memories."
"H-Hey! I c-can stay up if I want to! You can't make me sleep." Inaph gripped his stomach, the scar was bleeding to much because the blanket was stained. "I-I can stay up if I want to!" Inaph droned.
'Why do you have to be so stubborn?!" Lu barked, sufficiently aggitated. "If you keep moving around you're going to die, and you're no use dead! So please Inaph, will you just listen to me for once? Get some rest...we have to save Tsu tomorrow."
Inaph ignored Lucien. "You...You are going to save Tsu, Lucien. Not me." He looked away and stared at his hand that was drenched in blood. "Hatan has plans for you."
Lucien stared at Inaph, then looked away, his hat hiding his eyes. "Plans huh?" Lu couldn't help but tense up. He clenched his fist, knuckles turning white. Lucien looked back at Inaph, eyes watering. "Do I not have a say in anything?"
"You don't...and neither do I. Hatan has a good plan...and I have to agree it's probably the only way to get Tsu back." Inaph smiled. "Hopefully we can see eachother someday...And I think Hatan would say the same." He laid back down onto the floor and said nothing more.
Lu's eyes widened. "W-what are you talking about?" He asked desperately, inching closer to Inaph. "What exactly is this plan?!"
You wont see us when you save Tsu...We will have your back no doubt...He smiled and fell asleep.
Lucien growled, but didn't dare yell at Inaph like he wanted to. I-it's a good thing he's finally resting...it'll make this easier. Lu smirked and lightly tapped Inaph's forehead with the bo. He took a deep breath, and closed his eyes. I want to know what you know...Show me what Hatan told you. Lu's voice echoed softly in Inaph's subconscience.
In the dreams of Inaph's head, he was dreaming a memory. Hatan was cleaning Inaph's wounds and frowning. "I told you not to kill yourself for someone..." He growled. "Well...He's going to save Tsu correct? We need him." Inaph coughed. "Well, he may be our last hope. We still need you though...We have to get his back." "That's insane Hatan! You can't just send him to do a experianced person's job!" "Shush now...You know the plan...We will get his back as our soldiers distract the shadows...If anything comes up...I will sacrifice myself for you guys first..." "Why can't we just stay together as a team?!" "I-It's just not...going to work."
Lucien sat there completely numb. He stared at Inaph in awe; the idea that someone would die for him didn't ever really occur to Lu, and the fact that Inaph would was uncomprehendable. He almost felt bad, intruding in Inaph's memories, because he knew that he wasn't supposed to hear that. "Now at least I know what's going on, and I can stop it." he whispered. Being needed was a new concept for him as well. "Truely flattering, you two...but I'd never let this plan happen. I don't understand why we all can't survive this. I'm no more special than you two..."
Hatan patted Inaph on the head. "Go to sleep you...If you want to do anything tomorrow you gotta get some sleep. And while you're at it, tell Lucien to rest, I will keep an eye on you guys for the night." He stood up and walked out of the room, stranded Inaph in the room. "I-I guess...Thanks Hatan." Inaph whispered and smiled.
Lucien sighed and 'disconnected' his soul from Inaph's memories. I don't like this Hatan...you tell him one thing and me another...what are we supposed to do? At this point Lu didn't care; he was far to exhausted to care. He scooched a good distance away from Inaph and layed down, staring at the cieling.
Hatan walked into the room and released a small sigh. "Hopefully both are sleeping..." He whispered to himself as he closed the door. "I-I guess it's just better for me to stay awake...spend the time I have while I am here." He whispered himself again.
Alright this is rediculous. Lu sat up- a bit to quickly- and opened the door. "H-Hatan?"
"H-Huh?!" Hatan turned to look at Lucien, pretty shocked; his eyes widened and he let out a long sigh. "O-Oh Mister Vere, you frightened me..." He sounded like his formal self again.
"P-please stop using my last name..." Lucien stared at the ground, then took a step closer to Hatan. "What's got you so scared?"
"J-Just you saying my name suddenly. I thought you would be asleep by now is all." Hatan shrugged and scratched his head. "Mister Ve-...I mean...Lucien. You should go sleep...I will keep an eye on you both now." He smiled weakly.
"I-I appreciate the thought, Hatan..." Lu moved his gaze from the ground to Hatan and smiled sheepishly. "But you don't have to sacrifice yourself for me."
Hatan's eyes widened and he took a step back. "H-How..." He smiled and stared at Lucien. "You got the information from Inaph, huh?" He shook his head. "I worded it a little weird...It's more like...I am taking one for the team if we do come down to it."
"Inaph didn't tell me anything. I'm just...resourceful." Lu smirked and twirled his bo. "It doesn't matter how you word it Hatan, it's the same idea. And it doesn't need to happen, it won't come down to that."
"It will...I know it." Hatan turned his back to Lucien. "You can't prevent it...and neither can I." He turned to look at the door. "I might have to leave soon if you don't go to sleep. The shadows like to attack at night..."
"Hatan..." Lucien got in front of him and block the door. "The way your talking...it's just setting yourself up for failure! How do you know what's going to happen? You can't possibly know that...because if you did, why wouldn't you want to change it?" he shook his head. "Let the shadows come; we can beat this together Hatan, as a team."
"A-A team?..." He mumbled, he wasn't familiar using that word. "I-I..." He looked away and walked away towards the office again. "Hmph...J-Just go to sleep Lucien..You will need it.."
"Not until you do." Lu mumbled, following Hatan into the room. He still wasn't quite used to it, but he was getting there. Lu crossed his arms and stood like a statue, staring at Hatan with sad eyes.
Hatan kneeled down next to Inaph and whispered something Lucien wasn't able to hear. He stood up again and turned to look at Lu. "Mister Vere...I really don't want to sleep at the moment...I have to much business to attend to." He walked around his desk and slowly sat down on the chair behind it. He looked at the table to find his book was gone. "Um...well...that's great." He sighed.
"Alright, that's fine. I have business to attend to as well." Lucien said with a smirk. He layed back down on the floor and started to count the dots on the ceiling. "Hmm...oh yeah. About your book. The self proclaimed 'assassin' used it for some strange spell. He summoned a monster with it, and that was the trouble we- well, Inaph- dealt with...I'm sorry."
"It's fine...I will just have to map out the battle field myself again." Hatan grabbed his pen and started to draw on a piece of paper. "I think there is 1,509,892 dots on the ceiling. Cisle counted and told me." He leaned back on his chair and let out another sigh, he thought it was rude to sigh in front of people but he didn't care at the moment. "Hopefully we all can see Tsu tomorr-...Eh!" He yelped for a second as shadows began to engulf him.
Lucien glared at the ceiling. Brat. Took the fun right out of it, she did... Lu jumped up. "H-Hatan!!" he cried, running toward him. "How...how do you fight shadows??" He felt so useless, and he began to panic. This can't happen...
Hatan struggled. "G-Get Inaph out of here!" He gasped and tried to get out. "NOW! GET OUT!" He yelled with a loud tone of voice that didn't sound like the Hatan from before.
"B-but Hatan-" Lucien decided not to argue when he yelled the second time. Lu picked up Inaph, trying not to hurt him. He looked back at Hatan as he scurried out the door with Inaph. "I-I'll come back for you! J-just hang on okay??" Lu sighed and rushed Inaph to his room.
Hatan stopped struggling and stared at the man who emerged from the shadows right in front of him. "W-Wa-Suto..." He growled. Wa-Suto smiled and held Hatan's chin. "Well well...we meet again commander. Pleasure to see you are doing alright." He laughed. ---Inaph woke up, quite dizzy and confused. "L-Lu?! What are you doing...?!" He asked, panicing.
Lucien tried to smile. "Inaph, I-I'm going to be honest...We're in trouble. But please just stay here okay? You're in no condition to fight your father right now...so please...just stay put!" He left Inaph on a chair and darted back to Hatan. Lucien froze when he saw Wa-Suto. "L-Let him go!"
Inaph nodded and sighed. "F-Father?...Here? I got to help..." He stood up and headed for the door. -- Wa-Suto turned to look at Lucien. "Ahh...Lu-Lu." He teased him, using Lucien's personal nickname that he was given from Tsu. "I will...just be foiling your plans by taking him with me as well." He waved and glanced at Hatan, who was struggling again. Hatan stared at Lucien and was furious. "Get out of here now! You hear?! Get out of here!" He yelled.
